Glow Up: BTS and Professional Development was a three day series of panels where we hosted guest speakers across various disciplines talking about how BTS inspired them in their professional fields. We had guests with experience in visual art, psychology, physics, podcasting, religion and more. The event attracted over 150 registrants!

    Presenter: Katie Hulme, Diagnostic Medical Physicist and mother of two

    Katie Hulme is thankful to BTS for stimulating he “right-half” of her brain in her otherwise “left-brained” world. Her presentation addresses those trying to balance a family and work.

    Havannah Tran started her BTS zine as a means of pushing herself to learn new visual design and illustration skills that she reapplied in freedom campaigns during her work as an abolition organizer in the Bay Area.

    Join SFBO’s Sarah and Kayla in learning what it takes to start your own podcast — especially on a niche topic. Sounds Fake But Okay is a podcast where an aromantic-asexual girl and a demisexual girl talk about love, relationships, pop culture, and more! As of November 2020, SFBO's episodes have had over 360,000 downloads across 130+ countries.

    A roundtable discussion on incorporating BTS' message and qualities in therapeutic work with adolescents

    Presenter: Emily Brunsten, Clinical social worker specializing in treatment of adolescents in school and hospital settings

    Emily will be discussing the impact of BTS on her work, and the ways in which she incorporates BTS’ messaging and personal qualities when working with teenagers.

    A roundtable discussion on utilizing creative writing and artistic talent in professional spaces

    Presenter: Dream Glow Magazine Editorial Board (Nikola Champlin, Padya Paramita, Meredith Wade, Shannon Beddingfield)

    Dream Glow Magazine was founded with the goal of legitimizing ARMY voices through literature by publishing fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry as well as visual art. In this roundtable, we will be discussing how to utilize BTS-inspired creative work in professional spaces!
